In the UK, churches are among the groups who have been discussing economics a lot more keenly since the crash raised urgent questions about the way that we use money. Rising unemployment, heavy government cuts and the consequent increase in poverty have left churches questioning why so many people in their communities cannot afford enough food or fuel. It’s also led many Christians to look again at the Bible and Christian theology to ask what they have to say about how we earn, spend, bank and invest our money.
